Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars Xbox 360 or PS3 could be a reality if enough fans demand it, according to producer Ryota Niitsuma.
Although the game was built from the ground up specifically for the Wii platform and the developers thus have no proper plans to port the game to Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, money is always the driving force and thus, if enough fans make an uproar and request the game, then Capcom would love port it and fulfill fan demand. But that means that sales of the Wii version need to be strong enough to warrant the transfer of the game from the Wii to the other higher-end consoles, which would literally mean rebuilding the game from scratch.
"[Tatsunoko vs Capcom] was designed to fully exploit the capabilities of the Wii. It was designed solely around the Wii," Niitsuma explains. "So to transer the game to the other two systems would require starting from scratch."
"If enough fans say, 'We want this on PS3 and 360,' we might do that," Niitsuma said. "It was because of the fans we were able to bring this game to the States in the first place."
He went on to speak about what kind of sequels he'd love to see in the Versus fighting series if Tatsunoko vs Capcom is a big enough hit.
"If possible I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel to Marvel vs Capcom 2. Of course it would probably be a whole new type of game if we did that. There are also a lot of American game developers I wouldn't mind working with and being able to combine Capcom characters with them."
Personally, I'd like to see a DC vs Capcom fighting game. I'd love to see their take on Superman and Batman. Not sure what American company I would like to see them team up with, but a "Mortal Kombat vs Capcom" game would be insane. And a very interesting mix.
