Here is our interview with Baby Dave from Pint Shot Riot.
Can you start presenting yourself and your role in the band (all band members) ?
I'm Baby Dave and I play the electric Bass guitar, the best instrument!
How did EA asked you to be part of their games ?,
We were introduced to them through a mutual contact, a D.J who was playing our music over in L.A introduced our music to them and the rest is history!
Did EA asked you to create specific songs for their games or did they just pick up your original songs ?
We already had a lot of material so it is a case of deciding which song is the best fit for each game.
Do you think this partnership will make people discover your band ?
I think it already has. When you consider how many millions of people have been playing FIFA 10 for example, and in so many countries around the world it is staggering! We're looking forward to releasing our debut album early next year so it will be interesting to see if people remember us from their games!
Are you yourself a gamer ?
Of the four of us, I'm the one who spends far too long on Xbox live!
What is the last game you played or enjoyed ?
Well, without being biased, I love FIFA 10 at the moment! It is certainly the best football game I've ever played and hearing our own song being played on it every now and then just doesn't get boring! Also, I am a massive fan of the UFC game and am really looking forward to E.A's MMA game when it comes out!
Yes, I've got nearly all of them. The Metallica game was amazing!!
So how did it feel for real musicians ?
A lot easier than playing an actual gig! You can do it drunk and still sound good which is handy! It feels good to really get into a song and feel the changes and follow it from start to finish. That is similar to how it feels to play a song for real, you have to concentrate and stay in time and play your part in the group as best you can.
While on tour do you take your DS or PSP or even your iPhone to play anywhere ?
Sure also to the studio, there's a lot of hanging about and travelling being in a band!
Do you have a special game or franchise you are a huge fan ?
Fifa has been my favourite game for a long time. As you can imagine, I was blown away to be part of it! Also, GTA has been a brilliant series of games to follow, and it is still improving. There are a few MMA fans in the band so it will be interesting to see how the two game franchises develop in the future.
Did you try the Wii and do you think that the console bring something different to video games?
Absolutely. When I first got one and started to play with my friends, we were very impressed and it has improved so much since then. My favourite games were the ‘House of the dead' games, which I considered as close to having an arcade machine in your front room as I have ever seen. I think maybe the best thing is to have either an Xbox 360 or PS3 but also a Wii for when you feel like something different.
What are the latest news of your band ?
We're having a nice Christmas gig for our friends and family and then resting up ready to attack the New Year as hard as we can. We will be releasing our debut album, which we are very excited about and also writing and recording demos for our next set of songs throughout the year. Also we plan to tour, and if we're lucky, visit France and give you guys some amazing nights of rock and roll!
Do you have anything to add to your fans and gamers ?
