Recently the Surge's development team who is in charge of Afro Samurai's videogame version spoke about the game in an interview. It is better to know that Surge is a Namco Bandai label so it is an entirely home made game. They met the game throught a teaser of the anime serie of the manga with the same name. They decided to focus in the game on the stories and on the personnalities of the main characters, according to their speak that will be more deep than on the other inceptions of Afro Samurai.
The team gave a big prioritiy also to the action developping a lot of slicing technics combinated with a good timing between the spawn of foes and the musical band.
The fans of the anime serie can find the original voices used into this one like Samuel Jackson. Remember that the game is expected in stores for March 2009.
