Battletoads est sorti sur NES en juin 1991 aux USA, le 20 décembre 1991 au Japon et le 18 décembre 1993 en Europe.

Jeu culte, consideré comme l'un des meilleurs jeux all time et a juste titre. Perso c'est mon premier jeu Rareware et mon préféré.

Vendu comme un beat em all, il est bien plus que ca. Chaque niveau avait un gameplay different.

Contrairement a un Double Dragon II qui se terminait en une apres midi quand j'etais gosse (maintenant en 20 minutes lol), Battletoads c'est d'un autre niveau. La difficulté est hardcore. Le niveau 3, celui ou il faut eviter des obstacles dans un tunnel a haute vitesse, m'a traumatisé et je dois pas etre le seul. L'avant dernier niveau egalement, celui ou on se fait poursuivre par une sphere multicouleurs.

Le jeu propose un mode deux joueurs simultané. Mon grand frere et moi on y avait énormément joué a l'epoque mais on a jamais reussi a atteindre le boss de fin, juste le dernier niveau.

Le jeu est reputé pour sa difficulté punitive mais jamais injuste. Elle contribue enormement au fun et a la qualité du jeu. Perso j'ai été tres déçu par Battemaniacs sur SNES, qui est magnifique visuellement (le fameux parquet brillant dans le niveau bonus ), mais il est beaucoup trop facile. Comme un Double Dragon II il se termine en une aprem meme pas.

Pour finir, l'OST est superbe. Ce qui se faisait de mieux sur NES (avec les jeux Konami mais ca c'est un avis tres perso)

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition sortira sur Switch 2 le 28 août, ont annoncé l'éditeur Bandai Namco et le développeur FromSoftware.
