Monster Hunter 4 la déception des japonais ?

Le très attendu MH4 n'a pas l'air d'avoir conquis beaucoup de joueurs japonais d'après les avis sur amazon.jp

La traduction google est trop mauvaise. Je n'arrive pas à savoir l'origine des mécontentements.

2DS : nouvelle info poilante

On n'a décidément pas fini de rire avec la 2DS.
Le site gonintendo nous informe que la portable serait équipé non pas de deux écrans mais d'un seul grand écran.

This is insanity! Check out this blurb from our friend Jeremy Parish that details just how Nintendo is cutting costs on the 2DS.

Curiously, the 2DS is even more of a tablet-style system than it appears at first glance, as it actually features a single large screen in its center, not two separate ones. As one of their cost-cutting design measures, Nintendo reduced the number of screens in the system from two to one, and the appearance of separate screens is merely simulated by the way the case masks out the extraneous portions. This means the entire screen is by necessity a touchscreen, with the upper screen protected by a layer of plastic that sits above it.

In other words, Nintendo is just breaking up the two screens with the plastic casing, then blocking the touch input on the top half by a covering. I think I want one of these just to crack it open and peek at the inside!

Quelle gen aura été la meilleure ?

Pour moi la 128 bits

Je me suis éclaté sur une centaine de jeux Dreamcast, une cinquantaine de jeux PS2 (surtout des imports), et une vingtaine de jeux Gamecube. Trois consoles que j'ai adoré.

Vient ensuite la gen 16 bits, 32 bits, 8 bits, puis la current gen qui pour moi aura été la pire gen.

La Dreamcast meilleure que la WiiU pour développer

Selon les développeurs il vaut mieux développer sur Dreamcast que sur Wii U.

With games like FIFA 14 and PES 2014 being ported to the 10-year-old PlayStation 2 and not to the Wii U, it doesn’t come as much of a shock that developers are saying porting games to even the Dreamcast is more profitable.makesmewanttobuyadreamcastinsteadofawiiuWhile the PlayStation 2 sold over 150 million consoles, the Dreamcast only sold around 10 million. Still, these figures dwarf the struggling Wii U which hasn’t even hit 4 million. We spoke with Pro Evolution Soccer 2014 producer Kei Masuda on why Konami is not porting their game to the Wii U.

“The Wii U is just not profitable,” explained Masuda, “In fact, we were actually considering a Dreamcast port because it would be profitable. We have teams at Konami that already know the Dreamcast architecture so it would be a lot easier than trying to figure out how to unlock the Wii U’s potential. The audience is definitely bigger on the Dreamcast too.”

“Is there really a point to releasing games on the Wii U?” asked Masuda, “The time it takes to add in features for the second screen would take up too much of our resources. That time could be better spent on other ports. I mean, we could probably get away with porting our games to older systems for years. I don’t see why we don’t do Xbox and PlayStation 1 ports as well.”

Some Wii U developers are also considering moving their projects to the Dreamcast. We spoke with Travis Lang, head of BlueBlitz Studios, on why they might jump ship.

“I’m mostly afraid our game won’t sell on the Wii U,” said Lang, “I’ve been looking at the Dreamcast for a while and it looks to be a viable alternative. The Dreamcast has the VMU thing and that is just as good as the Wii U screen controller. I mean, I would be developing on the system that had Skies of Arcadia and Shenmue. That’s legendary, man. The more I talk about it, the more I’m liking this idea.”

It appears that even the threat of moving games from the Wii U to the Dreamcast is causing Nintendo to panic. It has been rumored that Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has ordered all Nintendo employees to destroy as many Dreamcasts as they can.

Violation de brevet pour la 3DS

Nintendo a été condamné à payer un ancien ingénieur de Sony 15 millions de dollars de dommages et intérêts pour ce qui est jugé comme une violation d'un brevet sur l'affichage 3D sans lunette.

Un nouvel éditeur boycottant la Wii U ?

Tout comme Electronic Arts, il y a quelque temps, Bethesda, l'éditeur de Skyrim et de Dishonored, vient d'affirmer qu'aucun titre n'était actuellement prévu sur Wii U. Nintendo doit donc faire face au désaveu d'un nouvel éditeur majeur à propos de sa console salon, dont les ventes sont de plus en plus ternes.

Nintendo ne pourra pas compter sur Bethesda pour apporter de nouveaux titres sur Wii U à court terme. C'est en substance ce qu'a expliqué Pete Hines, le vice-président des relations publiques de Bethesda à nos confrères de Joystiq lors de la Quake Con. « Aucun des jeux que nous avons annoncés n'est développé pour la Wii U, il est donc certain qu'aucun de ces titres ne sortira sur Wii U », affirme-t-il, au sujet de The Elder Scrolls Online, Wolfenstein : The New Order et The Evil Within.

Qui plus est, le représentant de l'éditeur précise d'ores et déjà que rien n'est sûr pour les titres qui suivront. « À court terme cela n'apparaît pas sur nos radars », déclare-t-il. Voilà qui ne devrait pas rassurer Nintendo quant à l'engagement d'éditeurs tiers sur sa console de salon. Actuellement, il n'y a qu'Ubisoft et Warner pour soutenir la machine en portant l'ensemble de leurs jeux. Electronic Arts a ouvertement déclaré bouder la console avant de se rétracter, tandis que la plupart des autres grands restent assez timides.

Pour justifier ce manque d'intérêt à propos de la Wii U, Pete Hines a une excuse toute trouvée : « c'est principalement une question de matériel. Notre devise est de concevoir les jeux que nous voulons concevoir, peu importe la plateforme sur laquelle ils sont développés », affirme-t-il. Toutefois, le tacle ne s'adresse pas seulement à Nintendo, mais également à Microsoft. « Nous aurions aimé lancer The Elder Scrolls Online sur Xbox 360, mais ce n'était pas possible en raison de limitations matérielles », tempère-t-il.

Nintendo devra donc faire sans Bethesda dans les trimestres à venir. On notera quand même que l'opinion de l'éditeur n'a rien de définitif. « Nous verrons bien ce que l'avenir nous réserve », répond Hines quant à l'éventualité d'annoncer de futurs titres pour la console nippone.

Wii U : De nouvelles difficultés en vue ?

La situation de la Wii U ne va pas en s’arrangeant. Un des fabricants dont Nintendo est le client vient d’annoncer la fermeture de plusieurs de ses usines.

Encore une mauvaise nouvelle pour la Wii U. Vendredi dernier, le Wall Street Journal (et Dualshockers) nous apprenaient que Renesas Electronics, une entreprise spécialisée dans les semi-conducteurs, dévoilait un bilan financier alarmant. Un communiqué de presse évoquant des pertes « extraordinaires » expliquait que le fabricant allait entamer une procédure de restructuration.

En conséquence, Renesas Electronics a annoncé la fermeture de quatre usines dans les deux à trois années à venir. Parmi elles, celle de Tsuruoka, considérée comme la plus prestigieuse. Cela pourrait avoir des répercussions sur la santé déjà fébrile de la dernière console de Nintendo.

En effet, une des usines concernées par ces fermetures s’occupait de produire la mémoire vive intégrée (la DRAM) de la console. Une partie très importante au fonctionnement de la machine. La construction de ce semi-conducteur d’à peine un centimètre de large représentait la moitié de la production de l’entreprise, mais les faibles ventes de la console ont forcé Nintendo à réduire les volumes, créant un écart entre les coûts de l’entreprise et les bénéfices, obligeant cette dernière à fonctionner à perte.

Nintendo a déclaré au magazine japonais Weekly Diamond que « cette fermeture n’aurait pas d’effet immédiat sur la production de la Wii U », mais les perspectives ne semblent pas réjouissantes.

La firme nippone devrait essayer de contacter d’autres constructeurs, mais cela pourrait être plus difficile que prévu. D’après un cadre de Renesas, ce semi-conducteur résultait d’un travail de pointe « exclusif » à l’entreprise, ce qui rendrait sa production difficile. Il faudrait peut-être reconcevoir ce composant particulier.

Ces changements de location et le possible remodelage du hardware pourraient provoquer une augmentation des coûts pour Nintendo. Autant dire que la Wii U n’est pas sortie d’affaire…

Le nouveau Zelda :|

Nintendo a inventé un nouveau concept de fou : une suite d'une suite O_O
Je veux parler bien sur de Zelda ALTTP2, qui pourrait très bien s'appeler Zelda III 2 étant donné que Zelda ALTTP est le troisième opus.

Alors bien entendu ceux qui ne sont pas naïf auront bien compris qu'il s'agira juste d'un remake :
