Ce top prend en compte la qualité de la ludothèque des différentes machines, à l'époque de leurs sorties respectives. La quantité de (très) bons jeux disponnibles a souvent été un facteur déterminant. Le hardware quant a lui n'a que été pris en compte indirectement ; comment faire de bons jeux sans une machine bien conçue?
