i found it depressing. well not really, but while thinking about it again now, it IS depressing: the enemies are still the same. run from them they'll walk to you run to them you'll have to chase them. i thought they were fearless and that was YOU who had to enjoy the fear. well anyway, those guys are just fleeing you and it's a pain to have to go get them. they are not aggressive enough and like in the first one, there is no difference between hard mode and easy regarding that matter.
i hate the ai and didn't have a taste of the legendary one of the marines in HL1. will try with the next remake.
at last on this subject you HAVE to kill all of them as you never know when or where the one you missed will shoot you in the back. how many times did i not check everywhere to find if there where not someone somewhere.
i suppose it's the demo but there is a lack of medpack contrary to an abundance of life 'pistols'. the thing is you can't take the pistol with you but he medpack you can. when you're too far to reach the last one you left behind and the door to it is closed that's quite a difficult moment.
i LIKE the hud, makes me feels like in metroid GC (i hated the slowness of the game but not the hud and such).
one thing i found annoying is the pop up thing. it takes too much of the screen and i'm glad it's only in such high frequency because of the tutorial(i hope so hard it is).
they HAVE to put the lean back!!! i won't buy it new if not! i'll wait for them to put it back , i won't play without it. why take OF that stuff? makes me remember capcom and it's stupidity regarding the move they put in RE nemesis (to evade. down +square if i remember well).
why create(innovate ? with) a move if it's to take it off for the next instalments? how many times did i see a weapon going toward leon and being not able to dodge it in RE4? i understand that megaman/rockman's sciatic is part of the 'legend' (or why i don't play it: i won't play a char who can't crouch. he can fire balls but not crouch? take the weapons of enemies but no; use his pets but n, fire away until an ARMY of enemies is destroyed BUT HE CAN'T CROUCH??? don't get bad ideas, megaman is a good game but not for me, just as fps with no lean when they had one in the firsts episodes(soldier of fortune3, fear2 demo....)
anyway. on with the subject.
i enjoyed the demo and i still do. even if i play it on the lowest rez possible with the lowest options. i don't have a graph card that's why. but even with those constraints thee game is a looker.
another thing i don't like is the dubbing.at least in the first one you could feel the uneasiness of you enemies when you heard 'he's trying to flank!' or other stuff. now they just read their txt and that's it.
when that guy in the school grabs you you don't feel the crazy/nerve whacked he has become in his voice. there is a BIG gap between the visual and the audio. i mean just like a bad dub of a foreign movie.
the guy reading is way too calm for this kind of event.
how i would LIKE to be in the studio telling hints to the guy dubbing :'think it's your girlfriend going with/leaving to another guy, you have the engagement ring in your pocket how do you say that sentence now.'
i hate to see good potential wasted and this game have GOOD one. the thing is , just like the first one, it may be hindered b a lot of mistakes. small but not invisible.
btw:
i'm not a fan of the big mecha. doesn't 'feel' heavy at all. it like the difference between gundam and a mechwarior.
i could enjoy it more if they made it a part of ANOTHER game: SHOGO REMAKE! or blood 3.....
anyway. anyone did the crazy thing of NOT using it? is so much more fun without it! i got to the 3rd mech. i'm still trying.
oh! and the armors!
what's with them? it looks like they played bioshock or something. although they seem more lethal than the other ones they are way less ....entity/monster like. that kind of scream... that 's a part of why i liked monolyth SO MUCH. remember those swat guys in blood 2? how they screamed after 4(not one more) bullets?
the armors had **** aggressiveness (when fiddled with from too close of a dist) and presence. what happened to all of those?
they are big but not as heavy looking as a big daddy. i's kind of weird to look at.
lastly. you can run but not on the side. do i have to wait YEARS for someone to add (barrel)roll to an fps game with grenades and missiles???
