GBW88 from the PlayStation forums has come up with a pretty cool idea:
“I was bored a little earlier, so I got to playing around with the browser, and I remembered something I had seen a long time back on the Winamp site, a plugin that allowed remote control of Winamp from a browser over the local network. So I ran a search and pulled it up. Setup was simplistic, and to access the page you just put in http://192.168.XXX.XXX, the Xs change from network to network, but the point is that you put in the network address for the computer running Winamp.
I did it on my PSP, and I have to say, its pretty cool. I have a surround sound system hooked up in my room, and now I can control the music from any room in my house through the PSP, and no homebrew, hacks, or really complicated setup on the part of the PSP.”
