Take a first look at Jack Slate and his dog Shadow on PS3 and 360.

Last weekend, we brought word of a new Dead to Rights on the way for PS3 and Xbox 360. Now Namco Bandai has made it official, announced the game under its full name, Dead to Rights: Retribution, and passed along the first screenshots.
According to their press release, "Dead to Rights: Retribution will form an origin story portraying key events that shape and define Jack Slate's character including how he and Shadow first come together as partners against those who would bring the once great city to its knees." Shadow, for those who missed the previous Dead to Rights games, is Slate's dog, and he helps you reach secret areas, plan strategies on how to attack enemies from behind cover, etc.
The big gameplay hook this time around, according to Namco, is a "hybrid combat system" that mixes hand-to-hand combat with gunplay in apparently highly brutal ways. It's hard to say exactly what that means until we get a closer look at the game, but check out these early screenshots to get a sense of where the developers at Volatile Games are taking things.
