Job listings on German developer Crytek's official website reveals that the FarCry studio is currently in search of a console programmer for the PlayStation 3. Though the employment description doesn't specifically name which project the team needs the PS3 expertise for, it does reveal some interesting requirements -- namely the responsibility of developing a next-generation framework based on CryEngine 2.0 and the need for creating solutions for PS3 porting.

The first thought that popped into our collective minds at IGN when we saw the listing was Could this mean that Crysis, the graphic-intensive Crytek-developed shooter for PC, be headed to the PlayStation 3 sometime in the near future? We contacted Electronic Arts, Crysis' publisher for an official comment:




Crysis is currently in development exclusively for the PC and will ship this winter, said the EA representative. No future titles have been announced.

IGN contacted Crytek for comment, but as of press time, our requests were not returned.

On ne sait pas si il s'agira d'un nouveau jeu ou d'un portage de Crysis car les responsables de Crytek préfèrent garder la discrétion. Mais c'est prometteur pour la PS3. Le plus curieux c'est que dans leur web, à côté de console Programmer ils mentionnent uniquement la PS3.

Crytek pourait développer un jeu EXCLUSIF a la PS3 mais qui ne serait pas Crysis vu que celui-ci est exclu PC. Les autres consoles n'yant pas voix au chapitre.
