In Shaiya, one of more unique aspects of is the mode system. Once you have reached level 40 in a mode you unlock the next mode and when you make a new character will have the option to choose that new mode. Each mode has it's own benefits. Lvl 60(Shaiya powerleveling) is the highest level on all modes possible except Easy Mode, and Ultimate Mode is the final unlockable mode.
Easy Mode: Don't use this mode. Just don't. You can only reach lvl30, do not get special skills(Shaiya Money), and can't unlock any modes with it.
Normal Mode: Here is where the new player should begin. A Normal Mode player gets 3 skill points per level and 5 stat points per level. They can reach up to Dread gear. People generally play NM to unlock HM at level 40, but that is not always the case. Some people have strong NM characters in the high lvl50s. As a NM fighter, you want to kill easily and safely. A death in NM means a loss of exp, depending on how good your "bless" is…the game wide boost you have based on how the faction's PVPers are doing. At no bless, you will lose 5% exp per death. At half bless, you will lose 0%, and it alters slightly depending on levels of bless between the two points.
Hard Mode: hard mode. A Hard Mode player receives 7 stat points per level, which offers more room for variation and to develop your own style. You also receive 4 skill points per level, can wear Legend armor, and get a few special skills not available to NMs. However, Hard Mode requires roughly 4 times the exp of Normal Mode. Some people stop at Hard Mode and never make the switch to UM, preferring to avoid Ultimate Mode’s dangers. Here you also will lose exp for a death.
Ultimate Mode: If you just unlocked Ultimate Mode. This mode offers you the strongest possible character. This does not mean you are invincible, far from it. A well-lapised NM player of the same level can still kill you. Mobs can still kill you. Be careful, for UM has it's own curse. Here it is.
